In recent years, due to the global attention to climate change, GHG emissions have become the focus of attention. Governments, businesses and organizations around the world are facing increasing demands for greater efforts to reduce carbon emissions. China has announced an ambitious goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. Greenhouse gas emissions and removal can occur at every stage of a product's life cycle, including raw material acquisition, transportation and storage, design and production, product use and final disposal. Quantifying greenhouse gas emissions and removals at various stages of a product's life cycle helps identify key aspects of emissions and removals and formulate an action plan to reduce emissions and increase removals. The Product Carbon Footprint Standard (ISO 14067:2018) details the principles, requirements and guidelines for quantifying a product's carbon footprint based on the product life cycle. Applying ISO 14067:2018 to quantify a product's carbon footprint ensures clarity, consistency and credibility of the results.
